James opened Native Havens LLC after working 15 years in the landscaping industry. He worked as a nursery manager and buyer where a diverse palette of plant cultivars was learned inside and out. He has an extensive garden in Kearneysville, WV where hundreds of plants are tested for hardiness, attractiveness to pollinators, growth habit, and ornamental qualities. James studies ecology through continuing education and incorporates ecological landscape design concepts into gardens whenever possible...
